Welcome to the Simpson College Horizons page.  From this page, you can view programs by using the 'Search Programs' tab above this page.

Students should be able to log-in with the OneLogin button to the right.  If you experience issues with this, please email study.abroad@simpson.edu.

Applications for May 2027 are due by midnight on October 7, 2026.  Any application completed in full by that time will be submitted to faculty for equal consideration. If you would you like to edit your application/essay before the deadline, you can use Horizons to edit the application until October 7, 2026.

Students may only apply for one May term at a time.  If you see 'Limit Reached,' it does not mean the course is full; it means that you've started an application, and the system limits each student to one active application. If, ahead of the deadline, you would like to change your program choice, you can withdraw your current application and start a new one. 

Our timeline moving ahead is hopefully going to follow this schedule:

  • Wed, Oct 7, 11:59pm: Applications and Walt Scholarship Applications due for May term
  • Thursday, Oct 8-Wednesday Oct 14: Instructors choose students for May term courses
  • Thursday, Oct 8-Tuesday, Oct 20: Students interested in the Walt Scholarship have their essays read and scored by a faculty committee, and those scores are combined with financial need information from Financial Aid
  • Thursday, October 15: Students notified if they were selected for their course of interest. Students not selected for their first choice of course will be notified of remaining options
  • Wednesday, Oct 21: Walt Awards announced (day before fall break)
  • Monday, Oct 26: Last day for students to withdraw an application for a course without penalty.  
  • Tuesday, Oct 27 – course participants lists sent to Registrar while spring registration processes are occurring. 
  • Oct 27-29 – spring registration dates
  • Jan 8, 2027 - program costs paid in full to the Business Office along with spring tuition or a payment plan for spring is established with the Business Office.

If you need to withdraw an application for any reason, you should be able to still do so on Horizons, even if the ability to start a new application is turned off.  You can do this without penalty until October 26, but after that date, there will be at least a $200 penalty.  This method is used instead of requiring a deposit from everyone; more on cancellation policies will be sent later to selected students.
